Staff Team

A good nursery is made up of good staff whose talents, morale, team work and professional competence are of vital importance. Due to our commitment to safeguard and develop children, staff are experienced and trained to meet children's individual, emotional and developmental needs.

We ensure the continuous professional development for all staff at Emirates British Nursery through the Senior Training Coordinator who oversees all staff training. At Emirates British Nursery we recognize that it is our staff members that make us successful and that to offer the very best care and education we must continuously involve our team in our vision.

The Curriculum

At Emirates British Nursery we follow the Early Years Foundation Stage. Great emphasis is placed upon delivering a broad and balanced curriculum which ensures the children establish a solid foundation of knowledge, skills and understanding upon which they can build throughout their lives.

The Areas of Learning

There are seven areas of learning and development that we need to develop. Children should mostly develop the 3 prime areas first. These are essential for healthy development and future learning:

Prime Areas

  • Communication and Language
  • Physical Development
  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development

As children grow, the prime areas will help them to develop skills in 4 specific areas. These are:

Specific Areas

  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the World
  • Expressive Arts and Design

These seven areas are used to plan your child's learning and development. Through daily routines and a wellplanned programme of activities the children work towards
achieving their Early Learning Goals.

Creating the perfect environment
To allow children to progress in their own time at their own pace, Emirates British Nursery is divided into areas
where the care is appropriate to the developmental stage of each child.
Children progress through each of the following areas:

The Disney Babies

(3 months - walking)

At Emirates British Nursery we realise the importance of open communication with parents. All activities in the baby room evolve around the child's first experiences of the world outside the home with rich multi-sensory equipment to stimulate and encourage their development.

As babies they interpret the information they receive through their senses of touch, sight, smell, learning, taste and through movement. We ensure that their home routines are not disturbed and that their first months at nursery are enjoyable.

Seaworld

(walking to 2 years)
We recognise the importance of planning activities for younger children and we give this as much thought as we do for the older ones. This will enhance their journey as they begin to walk, talk and listen.

During this time, your child will gain in confidence and want to explore new found skills of mobility, dexterity and speech. Your childs development goals are well documented so you can see exactly how much progress has been made. A report will be completed between 2 to 3 years specifically looking at the prime areas. This is in line with the Early Years Foundation Stage.

Jungle

(2 years to 3 years)
This area is designed to support and challenge your child's rapidly developing skills and physical abilities. The children are encouraged to explore and discover using both child and adult initiated play. The development and use of communication are at the heart of young children's learning.

We encourage children to learn new words through stories, nursery rhymes, singing songs and early learning. They will also enjoy activities in arts and crafts areas with painting and ‘messy play' which helps children develop their fine motor skills and identify different materials, colours and textures.

The children learn about a variety of topics and themes including the celebration of religious and cultural festivals.

Minibeasts
(3 years plus)

This area is for older children up to the age of four, and is designed to prepare your child for their chosen school. As part of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum, we have designed a gentle introduction to a wide range of subjects including ICT. At Emirates British Nursery the children are provided with a wide range of challenging opportunities for active and independent learning with plenty of practical and problem solving activities.

This enables them to develop their knowledge, imagination, curiosity and independence. At Emirates British Nursery we believe a child's early years' experience should not only be happy, active, fun and secure, but challenging and productive too!
