Emirates British Nursery Dubai COVID Response

Emirates British Nursery (EBN) has established a Health and Safety committee, together with the EBN Senior Management team, to plan the reopening of the nurseries on 4th October 2020. The safety and wellbeing of each and every member of our EBN community remains our top priority. This includes ensuring our children are able to play, have fun and learn in a protected environment and we will continue to work closely alongside the Ministry of Education in Dubai according to our Nursery Readiness Plan.

Some of the requirements include but are not limited to:

  • The temperature of everyone will be taken who enters the nursery; anyone with a temperature higher than 37.5 degrees will not be able to enter the nursery.
  • Parents are required to provide their child with a small sanitised lunch bag (no wheeled bags allowed).
  • Parents health and travel declaration forms will be required before your child can join the nursery.
  • Only one parent, adult or identified care person is permitted to enter the nursery to drop off and collect their child.
  • Staggered drop-off and collection will be implemented. Staggered timing decreased potential cross cover, congestion and limits contact time.
  • Staff, children and parent’s shoes to be sanitised before entering the nursery.
  • There will be a reduced number of children in a class (bubble). Children will remain within their class. Therefore, eliminating unnecessary contact and cross-contamination.
  • Ongoing sterilising and deep cleaning of the nursery will take place regularly.
  • Any support and maintenance service staff do not enter the nursery when children and staff are present.
  • A designated trained health and safety official employed to ensure compliance.

What will the children’s day look like?

Children will join their class (bubbles) which means that they will have areas of the nursery allocated to their class only. This will enable all the children to continue to have access to a wide range of resources to participate in fun activities that will support their learning and development through playing and exploring, being active and through creative and critical thinking. Furthermore, all the children will have the opportunity to play outside daily. Last but no means least, regular handwashing will be part of the children’s daily routines at EBN!

What safety measures do you have in place?

Our Health and Safety committee together with the EBN Senior Management team, will continue to work closely alongside the Ministry of Education, implementing our approved reopening plans. These procedures ensure all necessary steps will be taken to safely welcome you and your children back to the nursery while maintaining the highest levels of health and safety whilst your children are in our care. To make this successfully happen and be effectively maintained, we need your cooperation, understanding, ongoing support and flexibility. Parents will receive further information and can contact us for any concerns you may have.
