Dawn Louise Rose

Area Headmistress

I am pleased to welcome you all to Emirates British Nursery.

My name is Dawn Rose, and I am delighted to be the Area Headmistress of Emirates British Nursery. I moved to the UAE from the UK 18 years ago and am happily married with two children. I have over 12 years’ experience working in the early childhood sector and the EYFS curriculum. I studied at the University of East London, successfully graduating with a BA Honours in Early Childhood Studies and I also hold a Cache level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Children and Young Peoples Management Pathway (QCF). During my time at Emirates British Nursery, I have successfully managed the Motor City and Mirdif branches, which lead to my appointment as Area Headmistress in May 2020.

My ethos is simple: all children should be provided with the best early years experiences where we aim to inspire children to reach their full potential. This is what we achieve at Emirates British Nursery. Our talented Senior Leadership Team has a wealth of experience that ensures all four branches offer exciting learning opportunities for children in warm, stimulating, safe and secure environments. Furthermore, our dedicated and professional teams support, encourage and facilitate learning opportunities through play, enabling the children to be confident and independent lifelong learners.

At Emirates British Nursery, we welcome parents as partners, and we recognise and value that parents are children’s first and most important educators. We aim to create long-lasting partnerships with all parents and would like to welcome all families to discover the outstanding early years’ experience our nurseries provide.

My name is Tracy Penketh, I am the Headmistress at Emirates British Nursery Mirdif branch. I am qualified within Early Years and also management. I have worked in early years with children and families for over 27 years. I have managed Early Years teams for 14 years which has given me a wide breadth of knowledge in all areas of child development, motivating teams to ensure they meet every child's individual needs.

I believe every child should be nurtured in an environment with key adults who ensure their safety, facilitate their development and inspire them to learn, to ensure all children in their care reach their full potential.

My name is Katie Taylor, I am the Headmistress at Emirates British Nursery, Motor City branch. I have a Degree in Psychology from the University of Newcastle in England and have been working in Early Years for the last 9 years, having managed Early Years teams for over 5 years.

My aim is to ensure myself and my team create an environment where children enjoy learning and develop at their own pace; a place where children are encouraged and supported, healthy and safe. I want to inspire children to enjoy their journey of learning and my goal is to instill a foundation for a future life of learning for all children.

My name is Felicity Corbett, I am the headmistress of Emirates British Nursery Dubai Silicon Oasis Branch. My motto is, “In education, you have to be passionate, love what you do and give something of yourself everyday to inspire those around you.” I have been living in Dubai for ten years and working in the education sector for over seventeen. My interests are literature, psychology and child development. Motivated by my desire to “educate rather than lecture”, I started my career in education with the ambition to improve student learning with effective and diverse methodologies. Throughout my career in New Zealand, The United Kingdom, South America and the Middle East,

I have always made it a priority to share my passion for education, inspire children and guide them through their learning and personal journeys. I am excited for the coming year and look forward to meeting our new families.

I am Laura Howsen, Headmistress of The Villa branch. I arrived here in UAE almost 9 years ago from London, UK where I had worked for 7 years as a manager& trainer. I hold a UK RMA, CACHE Level 5 and am a certified PTLLS trainer & assessor in health and social care and early years.

For the first 2 years of my time here in UAE I taught 2-3 & 3-4 year olds and loved every minute of it! Since 2013 I have been managing early years’ settings here in UAE and strongly believe in the importance of parent partnership and excellent quality early years’ provision. I also place great emphasis on our early year`s practitioners being ‘lifelong learners’ – keeping their knowledge current and up to date to ensure that we provide the very best in early years’ education.
I look forward to working with our team to provide enjoyable and educational experiences for the children in our care and ensure that they develop a love of learning.
